Dear friends of the KANE Community
The recent rains and floods in Kerala has brought unprecedented devastation upon our brothers and sisters back home. For many, it will take months and maybe years to regain a normal life. Many families have lost their dear ones due to this relentless storm. On behalf of our community, the KANE Committee extends our deepest sympathies to all those who are impacted by this tragedy.
Our community typically looks forward to this time of the year to participate in our annual Onam festival. Considering the tragic news that’s flowing through on a daily basis, the KANE Committee has taken a difficult decision to cancel our Onam Celebration this year and instead focus our efforts on raising fund for the recovery work.
Many of you probably already contributed towards the recovery efforts in some way or the other. Please understand that the effect of these floods will far outlast the storm and alter the lives of families for the foreseeable future. We urge our community to continue to do what we can to extend compassion and kindness to those in need.
Please join us in continuing your support for the recovery work for all those affected in Kerala.
