It is with great pleasure and excitement Kerala Association of New England(KANE) announcing our new Arts & Talents Platform "Malhar©", which will be officially inaugurated by the Indian Cine Artist & Classical Dancer Smt. Shanthi Krishna on Saturday, April 23rd 10.30AM at the Marlborough Middle School(ONV Nagar) located at 25 Union St, Marlborough, MA. FOMAA General Secretary Mr. Shaji Edward will be our special guest. There wll be a team of visual and press media covering the event. The official logo of Malhar will be unveiled by a team of renowened and respected Dance Gurus in the New England. There is also a special performance by professional Kathak dancer Ms. Nidhika Tuli first time in the New England. Talent shows by the dance schools will be performed on the stage from 12pm onwards.
Since we had to accommodate launching ceremony and talent shows, this year we are doing competitions only for Drawing, Poetry Writing(English) and Solo Singing(Indian Non-Classical & Classical). Also, limited number of registrations this year for stage events. Registrations are on first come basis and will start online on March 11th . We invite you, your family and friends to join us for the launching ceremony of Malhar, which will start with a grand Chendamelam and Muthukuda procession accompanied by various folk dancers welcoming the Celebrity chief guest, FOMAA officials, KANE officials and other special guests on to the Malhar stage setup at the ONV Nagar. As part of the Malhar inauguration, we are arranging a ceremony to honor the memories of Malayalam Poet and Jnanpith award winner ONV Kurup. The ONV Commemoration will be very special with Smt. Shanthi Krishna sharing her memories giving life to ONV Songs on the silver screen. Special performances are arranged to reflect upon ONV's contributions to Indian literature and Malayalam Film Industry.
